A Charm Invests a Face by Emily Dickinson
A Charm Invests a Face
by Emily Dickinson
A charm invests a face
Imperfectly beheld.
The lady dare not lift her veil
For fear it be dispelled.
But peers beyond her mesh,
And wishes, and denies,
?Lest interview annul a want
That image satisfies.
